Why won't Wax play anything?

Debugmode Wax is a free videoeffectssoftware. Can anyone help me find out why the player built in the program won't play the files I put in there? What am I doing wrong? It is AVI-files allright. Please help, need it urgent!
I am running it on Vista 64.
