forgotten password
7 Answers
Hi. My son has forgotten the password to enable him to use his PC. It is the Administrators sign in box that pops up before Windows XP begins.
Does anyone know how I can override it or find it anywhere within the computer..????
Many thanks

Would not be much of a password if you could find it unencrypted on the hard disk would it !
Also, how you are going to find it on the hard disk if you cant get into the computer?
To answer your question, I believe there ARE ways of doing this, but I have never done it.
A search on the web may find it, or I am sure someone will come on here and tell you how to do it.
You could try entering NO password as I believe with XP Home you can have no password for Administrator.

Hi,
I don't know how you are with computers so I will answer the way I like being answered...Step by step.
On start up press DELETE to enter set up mode.
From the options that appear we are interested in ADVANCED Bios,SET SUPERVISOR password and finally SET USER password
Use the arrow keys to navigate to Set Supervisor password.
Press ENTER (on your Keyboard) and when asked for a password press ENTER again. This disables the password.
Press ESC on the keyboard and you will be asked if you want to save changes and exit....select YES
Do the same with the SET USER password.
You may also have to navigate to the ADVANCED BIOS option and navigate to SECURITY OPTIONS and untick the password required boxes.
Hope this helps
