I have installed this on my laptop which shows it is all working and connection is excellent but every time I disconnect the yellow ethernet cable from my laptop the internet goes down and I cannot log back on without plugging the cable back in. What am I doing wrong please. It is driving me crazy. I use AOL and Windows XP.

go into control panel and set up a wireless connection it will help if u have a usb flash

You are not doing anything wrong, by taking out the ethernet cable you are disconnecting from the net. You have not set this up as a wireless system so it goes down when you take out the cable.

Just tried Steve's suggestion but still won't then let me connect to AOL.

Solera, I have followed all the instructions I received and it says connection is excellent. Do I need other equipment or just someone who knows what they're doing to come and start again for me.
