Hi All
can anybody tell me what the largest cpu can be used on a msi K9NGM motherboard with a am2 socket it is running a 3200+ sempron at the moment

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I think it would be either the dual core Athlon 6400+ at 3.2Ghz and for quad core I think it would be the Phenom 9600 2.3Ghz
But I've only checked quickly... Double check before buying anything.
Also if your going to pay out for a new CPU you'd probably be better of getting a newer/better motherboard at the same time, but then you'd also probably need new ram, and a new hard drive, and have to reinstall windows.....
Just get a new computer :)

Chuck's troll trouble notwithstanding, apparently no AM2+ CPUs are compatible with the most recent BIOS for this MSI mobo, therefore Phenoms are not supported.
Here is the BIOS version 3.7 compatibilty list...
