restore cd

can i use my emachines restore cd on any pc or will it only work on my emachines pc? my mum is having problems with a computer she has had given to her and i thought if i could wipe everything off it and start again it should work better, however, she hasn't got a restore cd so would mine work (her's is not emachines) or is there any other way i can get it running better?

NOOOOOOOOOO. It will not work. A restore pc does not format and reinstall the operating system, it simply puts your pc back to factory default.
Obviously your mother's pc's factory default will be a lot different to yours.

What problems is she having?

Has she got a product key number, somewhere on the casing of the pc, if so she could borrow a windows disc and use it to format and reinstall
The product key will look like this.
Y3WRG-C9QVC-RY6YH6-QTVGC-BRKHQ
With different numbers and letters obviously.
