Uninstalling a program...

Help please.....I recently installed Sony Ericsson PC Suite on my PC but since then my PC seems to have slowed down and the software didn't do what I wanted anyway. The trouble is I can't uninstall it. I run the uninstall but it just stops half way through and sits there...how can I get rid of it?

I guess it depends which system you're running, but you need to find "add/remove programmes". mine is in the Control Panel, which can be found in the start menu.

locate the programme, then hit "remove" or possibly "uninstall".

cheers sara....this is what I'm trying to run but it's freezing half way through. It's a very big program but I left it running whilst I got a shower, dressed etc and it still just sits there..

Not familiar with the program but some programs include their own uninstall routine. Have a look for this.

If it won't uninstall, delete it manually. Find out e.g. from the shortcut where the folder is, maybe under Program Files, and delete it in explorer. It may have left some stuff in the registry, so do a search for likely strings, e.g. Sony, or Ericsson.

try reinstalling it

some installers will have install / repair / uninstall options
and sometimes they work best from CD

if no joy - actually reinstall - reboot and try add remove progs again

Glad you got rid of it craft... The sony software is horrible (as you found out)

for most sony phones this is better
