Is there such a thing? If so, where can they be purchased?
I am probably calling it the wrong name. I have a "dongle" sticking about 3 inches out of the back of my computer. Is there a connecting wire with socket which would allow the dongle to sit on my desk in a stand or dock??
Maybe it is wishful thinking.

Dongle Dock? Didn't he have a girlfriend called Daisy Duck? ;-)

If it's a USB device, can't you plug it into a USB lead and plug the other end into your PC?
you want a usb hub
http://www.google.co.uk/products?hl=en-GB&q=us b+hub&scoring=p

1 socket to the pc gives 4 connections out

to be exact you want a USB2 hub - as you can see they're not expensive ... so a trip to pc world or maplins will cover the postage costs

alternatively if it's only one device
http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?q=usb +extension+15cm&hl=en-GB&cid=14514925646630844 865&sa=title#p

the problem with both however is you still have a plug sticking out of the pc - and if you catch it ... while the device is protected the PC isn't
lol
I've got one of these because as you say, if you plug the dongle directly into the back of the PC, it sticks out to far and I can't push it against the wall!!
