Mini mouse
I have a little mouse which works perfectly on my notebook (HP) but I am having problems using it with my Dell laptop.
I get a funny kind of dm-dm noise from the computer and then the cursor freezes.
Any suggestions on how to fix this very irritating nuisance?
Many thanks

only thing I can think is that the dell mouse driver for some reason doesn't like mini
dell like to write their own drivers - and assume that you'll never need an alternative .... there is also a possibility that the USB bus is causing problems (is anything else plugged in to usb? - if yes... unplug and see)
first try updating to the latest driver
http://support.euro.dell.com/support/downloads /index.aspx?c=uk&cs=&l=en&s=gen
or
http://support.euro.dell.com/support/downloads /index.aspx?c=uk&cs=&l=en&s=gen&SystemID=INS_P NT_PM_1525
if that doesn't work - try uninstalling the dell mouse driver/software completely
if you have one try using a usb to ps2 adapter
