Need to set up some dual monitors

I need to get either some kind of card plus vja cable or one of these not sure on the specs for the first or which is better and the IT guy is hiding somewhere cos he knows i've got work for him

setting up a second or dual monitor system is easy . " yes i know if you know how " but this is one of the easiest things to setup.

first you need either a graphic's card with dual output " two slots where you plug in your monitor " is usualy a good indication .

if you only have a single slot then you should get another graphic's card of teh same type " same type to save you issue's with setup"

install new card if it was required.

then you simply plug your second monitor to the spare slot you have " either by second slot or via the new slot with new card "

when both monitors are attached right click the desktop and go to personalise then go to display settings and choose the setting you want .

you should then have the view area you want on both screens.

sorry i forgot to mension on some duel graphics cards the connections can be different .

for this there is an adaptor that can be obtained at most decent PC outlets for under £5 or there abouts.

this will look on one end like your pc slot and the other end like the plugin unit to the monitor

thanks for your answer however i'm not actually setting them up i need to get the hardware,

conversation went something like this (i'm running thorough office) IT guy shouts at me ***** i need you to get me some cards and some vja cables for the dual monitors, or a usb thing as these five need to be sorted pronto'

me running out of office 'ok i'll sort it'

then i get back to my desk and realise i haven't got a clue what the cards/vja cables i'll need and whether the usb device (link) is better or not

wow nice boss " he should be askin the PC network maintenance people to sort this type of stuff out not you unless your in that department .

Basicly you want to know the type of video cards these computers hold " if they dont have double plug's for monitors ", so a second of each card can be purchased. then its simply a case of following the previous instructions.

USB connection for monitors i can honestly say i have never done so anything regarding that type of setup would be mear conjecture on my part which would not be fare to do.

however i will state i use multi monitors on my home setup and have setup via the usual video card wiith no hassles or problems what so ever " having the dual connections on the same card saved slot's in the pc also".

" monitors come with the cables to connect to the pc , so they should be somewhere at work presumably in storage ".
