Any idea why the blue loading bar sometimes sticks about three quarters of the way ? It can take minutes to complete loading even simple things like AB for example and sometimes doesn't load at all, In which case I have to click the 'reload' thingy and even then it still sticks.

I'm on Windows XP with free versions of Zone Alarm and AVG. Virgin Media Broadband.

Thanks.

Could be too many apps going on at once or you need more RAM (memory).
Also try dumping out your cache (browsing history/temp internet files/cookies) do you keep up to date with your AVG's updates? make sure it's up to date and run a virus scan. It could be Zonealarm interfering, IMO you should uninstal it and use the (perfectly good) firewall that XP already has built in. Other than those, it just might be your provider being flakey.

Thanks, Mustard.

How do I dump the cache ?

AVG is set to update automatically.

Interesting suggestion of yours re Zone Alarm. Most people on this site seem to think very highly of it, but if XPs is good enough I'll probably follow your suggestion and remove ZA.

I've got CCleaner but don't run it as often as I should.

Thanks again.

Is it just on certain websites or all of them?

Not all websites, but It's difficult to say which ones, SQB.

Sometimes a site will load up fine but then stick later on, so there's no clear pattern.
Ah fair enough. I thought it might be the website rather than your computer.
