Unless anyone can offer a better solution I suggest temporarily lowering your screen resolution when using the program.
To do so, right-click on your desktop, click 'Properties' then 'Settings'. Move the slider slightly to the left. Since you only want to achieve a temporary change, simply click 'OK' (rather than 'Apply' and 'OK', which is what you'd use for a more permanent change). Don't panic when your screen goes completely blank; it's meant to do that. The screen will reappear after a second or two, at a lower resolution than before. You'll be asked if you want to keep the settings. Click 'Yes'. (If you don't do so fairly quickly, the option to change resolution will 'time out' and the resolution will revert to your original setting).
After you've used the program you can quickly go back to the higher resolution by repeating the above but moving the slider to the right.
