pc trouble cleared

anyones opinion please!
been having loads of trouble with my broadband in the last month (kept dropping)
had new router and filters from talktalk engineer who came around and checked my line too, everything was A ok!
but still broadband kept dropping so i completley had a good clear up of things on my pc i hardly used, one being (div x) media player as soon as i uninstalled this everything has been great ,no loss of broadband and pc much quicker do you think tha could have been the problem all along??
