Had no problem downloading Open Office but can't still open CVS files!!!!!
It's a tad annoying as I like to keep check on our expenditure and don't really want to go back to paper billing
any ideas?

nope, it is in my bank account, it says 2pick a programme to open and if it isn't there download Adobe , I have Adobe Reader 9 so when I go to open it, it says already installed, I have messaged my bank but it isn't really their problem even though they haven't relied ;-0(

Is it DEFINATELY a CVS file.

The most common file type is CSV (as someone has already mentioned).

Can you confirm if it is CVS or CSV

I also don't understand why they are suggestion adobe reader, that is for opening PDF files, not CSV

yep definitely a cvs file, me neither Chuck unless they are meaning it as an alternative, but it won't work anyway

I think you need to contact your bank. A CVS file is non-standard and Adobe Reader will be unlikely to be able to open it.

Could you possibly have renamed it incorrectly?

Try opening it in Notepad. If you can read it, and it looks like lots of bits of information separated by commas, I think we'll know what to do...

yes it does SB but notepad isn't one of them

does it say "browse" or something similar? You need to get it to open in notepad to confirm that it is a CSV file.

2) Click File,Open
3) Select the file

does it say choose from a list? Or pick application from the Internet?

CSV files are normaly text files - You might be able to open it in excel
