Edit photos before--

Can import photos from a card to my external hard drive but i want to edit them first

Open them in what ever software you use, then save them back to your card/camera.

Seems a bit '6 of one, half-a-dozen of the other'.

Just edit them AFTER you put them on the hard drive.

You should ALWAYS download the originals to your computer and back them up (to external drive if you want) BEFORE CHANGING ANYTHING.

Then you have a master copy of each picture to go back to.

Then copy all the photos to another folder, and edit them in that folder (leaving the originals somwhere else)

You never know when you might need the unedited original.
