region codes for dvds
Is there any way I can alter the region codes on my laptop. My grandson received some Thomas the Tank Engine dvds from Australia and the only way I could play them was on my laptop now I have used up my 5 x of altering the code I am unable to play the dvds,result...... one unhappy 2 year old. Any help appreciated.

I have to apologise for getting your hopes up. I've spent the past half an hour checking every source of DVD hacks that I know of, without success for that model. Sorry :-(
Perhaps you could relegate your existing DVD player to bedroom use (or flog it on eBay) and buy a new region-free player for £19.99, post free. Then, when kind-hearted relatives send you...

As Chris suggests you should find the region disabling code by Googling the make and model of your domestic DVD player along with "region code cracker" or similar text.
There are sites with lists of machines and they're free as well as individual replies.
Saves a lot of wear and tear on your computer too.
