Blurred and blotchy videos
3 Answers
My laptop had problems so I reinstalled Windows XP Professional. Since then I find that I cannot properly see videos which have been forwarded to me in emails. I use ntl webmail and open the video with Windows Media Player 9 series. The video appears but is very blurred and blotchy and colour is definitely wrong. I remember this happening before but can't remember what I did to correct it. Think I downloaded and opened through another programme but again I can't remember which.
Would be greatful if anyone could give me any ideas.

Have you got updates on top after WMP installed?
There is a possibility that the multi-use codec would fix it, and enable you to play most formats ok without installing any other players.
Try installing FFDShow .. from here ..Default settings. In it's Video and Audio settings panels .. uncheck tray display icon.

Pick the MMX version .. Should it not work, you can keep on system to play back different formats or uninstall it. This is NOT a player .. just a codec.
