A couple of times in my Spam box in BT Yahoo I've had an email supposedly from 'First-class tracking mail' + a reference number. each time I've deleted without opening it. It was spam, wasn't it? I have sent a parcel to USA which hasn't been delivered yet, but there's no reason why they would have my email address, and it was sent by ordinary airmail 'small packet' with no additional charges paid for tracking.
Not a very nice trick...
Good, thank you, that's a relief. A lot of people, like me, must be thinking whether they ought to open it in case some mail has gone astray at this time of year.
I didn't open it, squarebear, so I don't know the details. But I sent the parcel via Royal Mail (mistake!) and there was no ref to them in the title. I can't check now as it has gone back into cyberspace.
Mmm, I've had them before from UPS (ditto, never used). It was just the timing, plus the fact that the parcel hasn't yet been delivered but should have been, that made me wonder whether I'd deleted something that I really needed to know about. Thank you all for your help.
They prey on the gullible at this time of year. My wife received one entitled "birthday card from a friend" from someone she didn't know when it was her birthday. I spent all weekend sorting that one out...
