manual removal seems to be the answer http://removevirusmalware.com/yourfile-downloader-virus-removal/ - that was suggested here https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20120501235331AAAjEoM

i've never had it on any machine so can only assume that will work
get the free version of Malwarebytes

Let it clean anything it finds, then before you restart the computer turn off System Restore - some reinstall themselves from there.

Restart the computer and rescan.

Only when its clean turn back on System Restore
Have you got rid of the malware ?. If so, it would be interesting to know what you did to remove it.

No it hasn't worked. I tried Malwares and did a full scan with my Kaspersky Anti-virus but to no avail. Why isn't the Kaspersky working ? All the virus updates are "up to date" Am I wrong in thinking that an anti-virus program should sort this sort of thing out ? What is the point of paying £39 a year if it fails when you need it !

Tuvok. How do I turn System restore on and off ?

I had a look at bibs suggestion and printed it out but it was a trifle too complicated for me. Does anybody else have any more suggestions ?

For the record, I am using Vista, if that helps.
To show 'System Restore' click windows button and type 'restore' into the search box. You should then get a System Restore result which you can click on.

Nothing showing in Add/Remove Programs? It might well be lurking under Yahoo or another name.

As its not a virus as such your Anti Virus program may not detect it. Does Windows Task Manager show any processes running with the same or similar name?
