I tried that and it seems to show promise until i entered slmgr-rearm, it then said that I had had too many goes at getting in and that i had to re download, my OS.
I bought 2, Windows 7 OSs once both supposedly genuine. Must have been genuine, had to be because as they ran for months without issue. But when Microsoft felt enough time had elapsed to ensure a possible "dodgy seller" to have got away, then and only then they started claiming it wasn't genuine. Must have been %$£$"^%$"^ hilarious for Microsoft, aiding and abetting the bad guys like that whilst dumping on the good guys from a great height. I bet their pants haven't dried out yet.
By sheer luck I was able to find the invoice and contact the seller and he replaced the 2 OSs with ones that have worked ever since.
Pity you are using Google Chrome. It's the one Browser that no longer will I have in any of my equipment. I just don't trust it.
To check if your Windows is genuine :-
Click on Start, then Control Panel, then click on System > Security, and finally click on System. Scroll to bottom of the page and it should indicate that Windows is activated and there will be the official Product ID Number.
You used to be able to get rid of this with slmgr/rearm, but i cant seem to get rid of the latest 'not genuine virus'. I think you get 5 attempts and there is away to re-set the attempts to zero but i would have to have a look a bit later
You could try to reactivate Windows via phone, sometimes works!:-
- Click the 'Windows Start' icon, then in the Search box type: "slui.exe 4"
- Next press the 'ENTER' key
- Select your 'Country' from the list.
- Choose the 'Phone Activation' option. A MS Phone number to call will display, UK number is 0800 018 8354
- Stay on the phone (DO NOT select/press any options) and wait for a person to help you with activation.
- Explain your problem to the support person.
- Hopefully the MS support person will give you a confirmation ID code number, best to copy it down on paper. You will also initially be asked to read out the code number displayed on your screen.
- Read back ID code to support person to verify
9) Enter the confirmation ID number on screen and click 'Next' to finish the activation process.
How long have you had the OS.? Has it been working previously without any problems.? Are you using it at present to post into AB.?
If it is Not a genuine copy of Windows, it is understandable that you are unable to activate it. Having said that, I wold be interested to know how originally you got it working without going through an activation process.
