Ignorant about Wireless
Sorry if this question has been posted-I've looked but can't find one that answers my query.
I have AOL silver using a BT line. I want to buy a wireless modem, but I don't know whether a 54Mbps will do or do I have to buy a 125Mbps? AOL Silver isn't mega-fast, but I assume buying a 125Mbps router won't speed it up...?
My Dell PC is only about 18 months old-will I need an adaptor (I only have 1 PC in the house)?
Last thing, is 50 standard cost, or can they be purchased more cheaply? Am quite gutted that I signed up to AOL Silver in August, and now they're offering free wireless!
Would appreciate any help. Thank you very much.

With network connections (or really any sort of connections), it's only as fast as the slowest speed. So your 54mbps connection is thus probably about 50mbps faster than your actual internet, so is perfectly adequate. But it'll still only run at about 4mbps or whatever yours is.
Since it's broadband over your phone line, I assume you have a USB modem. In which case, get a wireless router+modem in one. Something like this:

If it's not already wireless, and you don't want to connect it by cable, yes.
