It's a very good deal but they've had so many people subscribing they can't cope.
We're in Yorkshire so it may be different but my brother signed up at Christmas, he finally got his broadband at the end of March - and has had no land line since then, it's been a complete nightmare.

The BBC Watchdog programme recently invited viewers to rate their broadband service. TalkTalk scored very badly. The detailed table seems to have gone from the Watchdog website but it's effectively summarised on the Think BroadBand website. (The best ISPs are at the top. The worst are at the bottom):

Think BroadBand have their own ratings table, which was complied independently of the BBC one:
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/isps.html
Madasafish scores well in that table and, under different names, holds three of the top 4 positions in the BBC table.

Hi, I signed up to talk talk at the end of feb this year my broadband was on by the middle of march and I've not had a problem at all with there service, in fact I think its very good indeed, you will need to get the modem that they supply at a cost of 29.99 and connect it through the RJ45 cable supplied and follow the instructions to the letter.
hope this helps.
