More info please? Are other pcs connected to the router? Can they all be connected by ethernet at the same time (temporarily)?

What is happening when she tries to connect?

Are you familiar with the Linksys admin page?
Well there are two ways to connect a laptop to a router, with a wire (wired) or wireless (wi fi).

If you want to do it wired then you need to use an ethernet cable and plug it in the laptop then plug it in the router.

If you want to do it wirelessly then you need to find out if your router is a wireless router and your wife's laptop has wi fi built in (most modern laptops do).

If it is a wireless router then there should be instructions in the documentation that came with the router on how to wirelessly connect a laptop to a router

At the moment there are two pc's that can use the router at the same time. When going through the instructions it ends by saying that it will not accept the laptop. The problem is it asks for both a password and a key word.I'm unsure about one and can't remember the other.I told you that I was an idiot, but I have had the router3 years.Normally I write such info down, but???????
