The easiest way to do it would be to get a wireless router with a cable modem built in to replace your existing modem. PC world do a range just make sure you get a cable one and not an ADSL one. I prefer netgear routers but lynksys are also good.

Firstly, is your broadband cable or through the telephone line? Until recently Virgin only provided cable broadband but now do ADSL too.

I have cable broadband and use a Linksys WRT54G - excellent range (all over house and to shed at bottom of the garden), good security and set up.

Others recommend Netgear, but really the choice is yours. Just make sure you buy the right one.

My router is 4 years old, but if I were buying one today I would make sure it had a printer server. This allows the printer to be plugged in to the router, so it can be accessed wirelessly from the laptops.

I would be interesting in replacing my cable modem and linksys router with an all-in-one. Haven't been able to find one - can you link to a few examples, please?
they are available, just checked the link I put up and there are none on there that have a built in modem, they all use the existing modem, the link below is one with a built in modem, bear in mind you'd have to call virgin and tell them the details of the new modem so it will work.
