hi having problem opening attachments, keeps opening as wordpad and comes out just a load of jumbled lettersany ideas anyone

Zip the attachment.
What are the three letters at the end of the attachment? For example .doc is Word .xls is Excel and so on.

at the end of attachment is the date , then dot
.dot is a word template. Try opening it in Microsoft Word.

sorry for being a bit thick, how would i open it in microsoft word ,.......thanks
can you right click on the attachment and then choose `save target as` and then save the file in your docs as a word document?

thanks for info, but comes up on screen as ......interface not supported...........
Is it on all attachments or just one? If it's just one, it's probably worth checking with the sender what type of file they have sent you.

have had problems opening all attachments recently,but managed to some how get around it, but this one has been nightmare ,ill do as yoou say and get intouch with sender,cheers,, whenever i open an attachment ,never just opens or saves always a problem ,errors,unable to open, contaminated email ?,or opens in wordpad as a mass of jumbled letters, only in pdf can i open them is there anything i can do ,reset or download to open all my attachments no matter what format,its sent in

If you haven`t got Microsoft Word or Office on your computer you can download for FREE Open Office which will open all documents, save all documents, in whatever format you want Best of all is not paying Bill Gates any money to get it
