Microsoft Office - emails staying in OUTBOX

Does anyone know what my problem could be with.

Im using Microsoft Outlook to send emails and it has been working last week --- now any email I send is sitting in the OUTBOX all day or taking hours to send??

HELP!!

open the mails in your outbox and click on send again (don't close them by clicking the x)

I've also been having this prob when forwarding mail to all of my contacts I get a warning that I am sending to too many contacts. I have now started splitting & forwarding mail in 2 halves & cured the prob,a bit of a nuisance but it works.
