If I were to use the internet on my phone it would cost me 60p per MB.

Is this expensive? I have no idea.

A MB (Megabyte) is not a lot, so it could soon cost you a lot to download things.

For exampke a single mp3 song could be between 2MB and 10Mb (or more) depending on length and quality.

So to download a 10MB song will cost you £6.

Thanks.

How about just browsing, say a couple of minutes looking up train times, or checking something out on Wiki?
Could you not add the internet bundle onto your contract
Question Author
It's for my son on PAYG.

You can add unlimited browsing for £2 a week, but he will need very little internet use so I wondered how much occasional short periods of use would cost.
i just checked how much would be used if i checked something on wikipedia and it was .8 of a mb so say a mb and train times maybe 2mb
If it only costs £2 and its unlimited then why not add it, if its 60p a mb then as soon as he has used 4mb he has spent more than the internet bundle costs
Question Author
Thanks for that - a great help.
£2 a week doesn't sound much but that's £8 a month! I would maybe see how he goes with it and if he ends up using more than £2 worth per month, then add the bundle on. :)
oh my apologies i didnt see the per week bit, yes if its £2 a week then yes a little expensive, my bad OP

He's getting a new phone for his 18th, and it will have Wifi capability, so I don't think he will need to go on the internet via mobile signal very often - if at all.
As a result £2 a week would probably be a bit of a waste.
