No Signal on my Panasonic TV and DVD (both have integral Freeview), have tried auto setup on both TV and DVD (with technical help from the shop I bought from). I switched on my old tellie which has its own separate Freeview box, this has No Signal as well. Is Freeview carrying out maintenance in the Surrey area or does anyone think it could be the aerial ?

There may be a Transmission break in the Signal but if not check to see if your rooftop Aerial is correctly in place. Check all leads to and from your equipment to make sure they are all well seated and correctly connected.
If they share the aerial then the problem may be with a connector. Was the failure spontaneous or had you been disconnecting and reconnecting the aerial? if the latter then check the plug on the end of the aerial cable.

All been checked, and as the (newer)TV is still under guarantee, the store is sending someone tomorrow, but I just wondered if Freeview were doing something in the area which would explain it. Failure was spontaneous by the way. Nothing had been touched.
Might sound like an odd question but have you got Power to your TV ? Power light is 'ON' ?
Question Author
If power light was off, i wouldn't have a box saying 'No Signal' on my screen ...
Can you access Menu of TV with remote in order to do a Full Scan ?
Question Author
Yes, if I press Menu I get Picture/Sound/Setup. I have done an auto set up with technical help over the phone, the bar goes along the top as if it is checking, but there are no programmes scrolling in the boxes. Hope this makes sense. Is there anything else I can do ? it does seem odd that both TVs in different rooms have the same problem.
Do a Full Digital rescan from Set-up Menu and make sure your Aerial is connected properly. i assume you have an outdoor Aerial ?
Question Author
Yes I have an outdoor aerial. I'll try that redman, thanks.
Question Author
Redman I have gone into Setup Menu on the TV. There is no Full Digital rescan. I can't see it on the DVD either. Where would I find it ?
On my TV i have Analogue and Digital Tuners but since Analogue signal has been switched off can only use Digital for Freeview now.
Find complete Auto Tune in your Menu and do Full Scan.
Do both of your TV's have separate Aerial connections or have you a splitter ?
Concentrate on one TV at a time.
Problem seems to lie with your Aerial connections.
Question Author
redman, I am not technical so don't know about the splitter. All I know is I have two tellies both with their own Freeview, and I presume both off the same aerial as No Signal on both. I have looked on both the TV and DVD remotes and can't find where I do a Full Scan. Sorry to appear so thick, but can you let me know how I find Complete Auto Tune and then Full Scan? I am only concentrating on my newer TV/DVD as that is the one we use most of the time.
Question Author
I can watch programmes I have recorded onto my DVD player so that's something.
Full Auto Scan is in the Menu ....go through the Menu until you find set up. You will see Auto Scan there.
Aerial from Roof goes into DVD first, then lead from there into TV, both also connected by means of Scart Lead.
Find set up in Menu.

Thanks redman, I will try this and get back to you. Watching Only Way is Essex now (recorded the other day ) ........
Have you fallen asleep smurfchops or are you still trying to Scan ????

Ok I'm back. I went into Setup thru the TV, then I have System Update which I've done and its still not working. I can't find auto scan there. I will just have to wait until tomorrow for the man to come. I have a feeling it might be a problem with Freeview at least I'm hoping so. thanks everyone for all your help. At least i can watch my recorded DVDs ...
Question Author
Sorry redman I was typing at the same time as you ! I had to watch the end of Essex, you know what I mean babe ?!
Question Author
Just an update. I kept trying to auto update thru my DVD this evening and eventually all the programmes came back. But they havent come back on the TV! It just won;t update, it just works thru the DVD player. So the man is coming tomorrow. thanks again everyone !
