Hi ABers/
Im going to bite the bullet in a fortnight and buy the new Sony 3D laptop.
The thing is it has Windows 7 installed and i am used to XP, is it worth seeing if i can get XP installed on it or should i just go with the windows 7 and see how i get on?
Cheers.

I'm sure you'll also have seen posts from people who can't do things because they're using outdated software. Depending on your age, you may recall the furore when Windows XP was first released. It's always that way. Windows 7 runs rings round XP in just about every way...
Unlike Vista, 7 seems to be generally regarded as better than XP. If it's already installed, you might as well 'give it a go'.
However you need to be aware that there are 6 different editions of Windows 7. See the comparison table here for the details:

New laptops often only have the Starter Edition, which can lead to some frustration when, for example, you find that you can't change the Desktop (unless you install a third party program which actually leaves the Desktop unchanged but then puts another picture on top of it).
Similarly, 7 was designed with 'XP Mode' built into it, specifically so that people like you could use your old software and techniques but (annoyingly) Microsoft have only enabled that feature in the most expensive editions of 7.
