I don't have one but have seen and played with a few, the 3G option is a no-brainer, for £40 odd quid over the price of the basic you get a Europe wide 3G contract, so as well as being able to download books anywhere in Europe (subject to coverage) you can also check your e-mail and do a little basic surfing as well. Books can be downloaded and transferred via your computer if you want but it's so simple to do direct from the Kindle itself that I don't see why you'd bother doing it any other way.
