Canon PIXMA MP280

Have just bought the Canon PIXMA MP 280. How do I use the Scanner? I put a document under the document lid, pressed scanner and it just copied it onto paper. HELP PLEASE.

I use the MP270 , have you loaded the disc into your computer , If yes
when you turn your scanner/ printer on i get a box on my computer screen and i just click on scan

if the box does not come on your computer screen

click on programs and you should find ;;;, canon Mp Navigator EX.30 or similar click on that and that should put a controll box on your computer screen

I'm guessing that the relevant software (MP Navigator EX, as suggested by 1RedBeachball) hasn't been installed properly.

Have a look to see if you can find it listed. (If you can, you can control the scanner from that program anyway, rather than using the 'Scan' button).
