flicker on tv when filmed on video camera
5 Answers
I need a very basic copy of some footage I have saved on a hdd tv external hard drive/dvd player I just want to save time by just filming off the tv the footage on into my camera and then put on th laptop, but you get that flicking effect on the tv. It is a 8 year old rear projection, do you get the same flicker effect on the more modern LCD tv's?
Thanks in advance

It's to do with the difference between the tv feld refesh rate and the cameras electronic shutter speed. Most tvs field scan is 50Hz, some Philips sets scan at 100Hz.
Your camera may have a variable shutter speed (they are all diffferent and you don't say whch camera you are using). If it does try changing the shutter speed and try to match the field scan rate to reduce the flicker.
