Hope someone can help. I've got a downloads directory, which I view by date modified, and within it I've got a shortcut to an Images directory on my other hard drive. Problem is that the shor cut obviously is set at the date it was created. Does anyone know of a way or a trick to make the shortcut update itself whenever I move files into the images directory via the shortcut?
I'm not 100% sure I know what you're on about with the date being set etc.
Why do you want the date in the shortcut to change? Do you mean that when you move files through the shortcut that they are imprinted with today's date once you see them in your Images folder instead of the date that they were originally created?
The only way that I can think that you can do that is to amend the shortcut rather than just use it.
Right click >> properties
and then amend something randomly like clicking on the "shortcut key", press Shift to pretend to make a change (but actually leave your shortcut the way it is) and then click Apply.
This doesn't really help you, does it? Why do want to amend this date anyway?
