Following the site maintenance I have now got a horizontal scroll bar on screen permanently.
From a position where not all of the screen is visible I can drag the window wider to a point where the scroll bar has a 5mm gap left. It never goes less than this even if I maximise the window.Does anyone else have this?

I have the same scotman. Though to be honest until I read this I didn't notice as I can see all the screen. Now I've noticed it it's annoying me. Though not quite as much as the orange banner across the top saying we are back. Using FF too.
no, same screen as before just with a tan coloured bar saying we are back!
I'd echo exactly the comments by Safiya.

FF4 on 1920 × 1080 23" monitor.
I can see the whole screen on FF4, and no scroll bar, but I have a wide screen, so maybe that disables it.
Reduce the zoom using CTRL and - (CTRL and + increases it again)

Thanks all who have responded. At least it is not just me.
For completeness I am also on 1920x1080 but I hardly ever maximise anything.
Though that said, I've got the scroll bar too, and reducing the zoom doesn't get rid of it.

For Chuck

That has an effect but doesn't fix it.

In the last couple of minutes my ever-present horizontal scroll bar seems to have disappeared.
Mine too.
In IE all looks as it ever did.
Yay! Gone here too.
I'm on IE9 - no change this end, is it Firefox?
It was the "We are back!" banner at the top of the screen (following Thurday's brief downtime) that caused the extra width. The wider page happens whenever one of these announcement banners appears.
