FAO ubasses re Voicemail query

I tried to ring 1571 and could not get to menu or settings as I just get " You have no messages . Please replace your receiver. RRRRing"
Now what? I didnot know how to 'send' which you had put in brackets. Am ovviously being very dim. Sorry!

Sorry, but Ubasses' instructions see to refer to BT Call Minder (which is a premium service, costing you money), rather than to the more basic (but free) BT 1571 service. (Confusingly, you actually dial 1571 to access either service).

All you can do is to remember to check the dial tone when you arrive home (or when you've just finished a call). I always press the 'hands free' button, to listen to dial tone whenever I enter the house.

Alternatively you can ask BT to completely disable the 1571 service.
