How does one highlight particular text and then convert the text to upper-case?

yes you can.. paste the text into a word document.. and go to FORMAT>CHANGE CASE

Also in MS Word you can select the text to change then hold down the <shift> key and repeatedly press F3. This will cycle through all the options available.

If you are doing it Firefox it suggests you are posting it somewhere. Hope it isn't on a board because upper case would mean you are shouting.
