Does anyone know of a good MP3 player to buy. Preferably not of the i-Pod variety and 512mb or 1gb.

Cheers

You mean NOT 512mb or 1gb, or you'd like 512mb or 1gb?

I bought a Sony NW HD-3 20gb MP3 recently and I'm more than pleased with it.  It's long battery life is definitely a plus.

You'd never believe I did A Level English!!

I would preferably like 1GB or 512MB, but would prefer not to have an i-pod.

Thanks for your answer KebabMeister :-)

Ah, I see.  I also have a 128mb Creative Muvo which is available in larger memory sizes (I got this free).  I found it very functional, good menu system and even a radio built in as well as being small.  It uses 1 x AAA battery.  Some other MP3 players have a rechargeable battery which is okay if you've got access to electricity but not so good if you're going on a long trip etc.  (batteries good for long journeys).
I bought my boyfriend a Creative Zen Touch MP3 player for Christmas. It is 20GB and so holds thousands of songs and the battery lasts for ages (knocks spots off i-pods!!).

Amazon is the best place to buy it (best price).

I've got exactly the same model as Donna G and I have to say it is the mutts nuts.  You are wise to avoid the i-pod.
I have a few iPods, and they are without a doubt the best MP3 players you could ever have. The 1Gb one is superb value for money (www.apple.com/uk/ipodshuffle), why the iPod phobia?

The Philips ones that I had for a while decided to crash, my friend's Sony just died, so far, my iPod Shuffle has been a worthy tool.
