Samsung TV help required

you know that brief jingly tune that plays on a Samsung TV when you turn it on or off...how do you get rid of it? Also, whichever channel I first settle on, up pops a box on-screen teling me about the digital switchover...how do I get rid of that permanently, so it doesn't pop up ever agin?

On mine: press the Menu button, select the Setup section, scroll down to General, and the 3rd item in that menu is Melody.

p.s. we don't have freeview here yet so I don't get any messages about the digital switchover.
