Help digibox freezing
4 Answers
My panasonic digibox has just frozen and on unplugging it and plugging in again it has asked for pin no. I have put this in twice but it says wrong pin it is not. Am on my last chance - what will happen if it doesn't accept the pin yet again - will my box be unusable - what else can I do to reboot it. Don't live in England so cannot call Sky HELP

- Panasonic digiboxes are prone to overheating which may explain the original 'freezing' (what a nice oxymoron!). A CPU fan may be required.
- When power-cycling the box (switching off & on again) wait about a minute before re-applying power.
- If power-cycling fails (often because of point 1) leave power off overnight and place digibox in the cool.
- For UK subscribers the default PIN (until changed) is the last 4 digits of the original Sky viewing card issued with the box.
- Changing the PIN requires digibox being connected to a phoneline.
- After 2 failed PIN entries you need to wait several hours (how many? - probably overnight) before it resets to 3 attempts.
- If you have a persistent 'fault' where possible attach your digibox to someone else's sat. dish to see if it occurs. If it doesn't problem could be cable, LNB or dish.
