white screen on blackberry

when i turn my blackberry on it comes up with the loading symbol and the screen stays white. it will not let me turn the phone off or do anything with it.
how do i resolve this?

take the battery out for a sec, that usually resets any problems

have you attached it to your computer? maybe you need to reinstall the OP ...?

mine did this, but only because it had suffered water damage... if thats the case let it dry out for about a week

You didn't drop it by any chance.. When I dropped mine I would get a sort of skewed image of the Sony Ericsson logo and then nothing :|
