Can anyone tell me what this means and more importantly how to solve the problem. I am trying to access the OUTNOW dvd rental website to cancel my subscription before they send me another dvd.

I've had the same problems, & their phone lines & website are down. I rang the managers of Britannia Trade Centre - the business park they were based at - only to be told a different firm are now in their unit. I'm guessing they've gone out of business - but they've still taken my monthly fee only a few days ago. As it's a continuous authority to pay the money, it can't be cancelled as easily as a direct debit/standing order, so my bank (Barclays) are sending me a form in the post to cancel that payment. This will take 31 days to take effect, so they'll be free to take more money next month, I guess? Beyond that, Barclays will reclaim any more money they try to claim.
All a bit of a mess - for any customers, it's worth keeping an eye on what payments are taken in the next month or so, & asking your banks to cancel if you're worried... Hope all that helps a bit :)
Are you on a bank direct debit?

If so, just cancel it.

If you are on a continuous authority to charge your credit card, then never do that again.
Question Author
