Unable gto print PDF files

I'm currently unable to print PDF files. When I attempt to, a Notepad page is displayed full of unintelligble characters.

I have a HP G70 laptop, and the only thing that has changed since printing my last PDF file is that I have installed a new HP Deskjet 2050A printer. Would this have any bearing on my inability to print PDF files or would that be just a coincidence?

Any advice would be welcome.

Have you installed the correct drivers for the new printer?

Is it possible that the laptop is still trying to use the driver for your previous printer?

Thank you Mark. I thought I had, but I'll check that out now
Are you sure you're selecting the correct printer when you print?...

If so check the printer properties and make sure you've not got a "print to file" box ticked anywhere....

also, can you print anything else, or is it only PDF files you have a problem with.

I am selecting the correct printer when I print, in fact it's only the PDF files I've got problems with, all other docs print perfectly. I haven't got a 'print to file box' ticked either.

I'm going to have to leave it for now, away for the rest of the evening and tomorrow. Will report back if I still have trouble, or I get it sorted. Thank you.
