AnswerBank work disappears when carrying out a search

How can I stop a web page from closing while I conduct a Google search.

I refer to the fact that I may be constructing a AnsweBank answer/question, then have the need to carry out a search, then when I return back to AB my work has disappeared.

My operating system is XP

Perform your search in a new tab

Construct your answer in a separate editor (notepad or something), and only paste it into the AB box, when you're ready to submit it.

Or open up a brand new browser window.

You can open up IE (or whatever browser you are using) any number of times and they are all independant of each other

different tab and I often open a 2nd answerbank tab when I am checking who is on, or a member of a particular thread such as The Apotheosis for an AB poem

I always have several tabs open and my google search box automatically opens a new tab.

Thank you for your answers but I thought there was quicker way instead of opening up another tab.

At the moment I hold down the Arrowed shift key, while opening another page.

At one time it once did it automatically as hc4361 seems to do.

That will open a new browser window
CTRL will open a new tab - much quicker

Do you mean just press it, because it doesn't do anything.

CTRL & click a link = open link in a new tab
CTRL & T = open new tab

Another good one to keep in mind is CTRL & L - this focuses the browser on the address bar.

Or if you're using your mouse, just click the + next to the last tab.

Don't use a PC, but doesn't CTRL N open a new window? And you can copy and paste from one to the other.
