On Facebook's new Timeline format, how do I keep my home address from showing up on the map? I can't find anywhere to let you unpin it. I don't like my (almost) exact location on there for the world to see!!

go in to personal details and take your address out, set your privacy settings to the highest

mccfluff, I don't have my address listed anywhere on my account, they're using my IP address to locate where I'm logging in from. I do have my privacy settings pretty high.

weird then, sorry i don;t know, the only place i thought it pulled from was in your contact info, or if you're on your mobile using the location finder (which you switch off)

Boxy, Timeline is the new FB format, maybe you arent using it yet, I like it!

You can click on the map then click on edit settings and make sure the only person who can view it is yourself.

Click on the map, click next to your name at top of next page and select 'about', the click 'edit' in the box titled 'living. You can set it to be visible to yourself then.

utepoot, when you click on your profile does it say "lives in" or "from"? If so then edit your profile and delete that info and it should clear the map.....i think!!

Hi headwreck, thanks for the advice, but that doesn't do it. When I check on "View as" for acquaintances my home is still pinned on the map, it's only people who are Restricted that can't see it. That is pants, I have already registered this query on Facebook. So, basically, unless you want to block people from seeing your stuff altogether, you have to let them know what street you live on. Can everyone else who doesn't agree with this invasion of privacy, please let Facebook know. Thank you!

Try doing exactly what I said in my post, it does work because I have done it myself.... not that anyone seems to have paid any attention to me despite the fact I know what I am talking about....

Hi, daffy, sorry, but nope, doesn't work. If you go into "view as" any acquaintance can still see my street address. Only Restricted people are prevented from seeing my address.
