The other day I purchased an "Acer Aspire One 722" netbook which so far seems OK but it does not have bluetooth on it so I bought a mini usb dongle which installed with no problem however I was hoping to leave the dongle permanently plugged in but I have since discovered that the netbook will not boot up without first removing the dongle and putting it back in the usb slot after boot up, why does this happen?
Your laptop BIOS maybe set to boot from USB before disc. This would be necessary of the disc were corrupt and unbootable and you have no CD-ROM drive available.
As your bluetooth dongle is not a bootable system, your laptop will fail to boot and then hang. You need to check the BIOS to ensure that the first boot option is the hard drive
Thanks for your answer Berkshirelad, I guess I will have to get someone to check it for me as I am a computer novice and would not have a clue how to do it myself.
