Bought a Samsung Galaxy Y just over a week ago.

Very poor battery performance to date, just over a day and a bit from each charge. I do make calls so even more disappointed.

Welcome to the world of smart phones, they pretty much all need recharging every night if you actually use them.

Make sure you close all apps after you have used them or they will continue running in the background.

Turn bluetooth off when you are not using it - it is a real battery drainer.

Don't use an animated home screen.

If there is a cover available that automatically puts the phone into sleep mode, buy one.

I have a Galaxy Note, the battery performance is far superior to my other smart phones, I can run mine for 2 days without charging, I must admit to not using it a great deal though, my other phones struggled to last a day without a charge.
