What is the difference with the modems you can buy and the ones that are supplied with your broad band?

Some ISPs provide pretty good routers, some supply rubbish ones, similarly some you can buy are good and some you can buy are rubbish.
So without knowing what you currently have and what you are thinking of buying it's not possible to say which would be best.
(although a large proportion of wireless problems can be resolved by simply changing the channel the router uses)
