Just got my kindle and enjoying it but am confused when I switch it on away from home. I can read books already downloaded but when i go into the 'store' to buy something, the kindle seems to be looking for a connection in the area. What do i do?

If its the Wi-Fi model you have you need to have access to Wi-Fi to be able to purchase books. If you go to anywhere that advertises Free Wi-Fi access if you are away from home. Many cafes, Restaurants, Pubs etc you should be able to connect from there.
