Widws Download Prob.....

Has anyone else had problems with downloading an "important update" 964k. It's been months now. Updates have always gone through no problem in the past but since this one "faied to download" I haven't been recieving any others ! The computer is still working o.k. but not as slick as it used to be and I'm shure it's something to do with the problem ,
Any ideas anyone ?

Here's an idea: tell us which version of windows you are running.

In that case I would either live with it or upgrade to Windows 7.

I've lost count of the number of Vista machines where there is a problem with an update, and the time taken to try to solve it means that the cost is greater than the value of the machine.

I'll give that some thought,thanx.! my knowledge in that area is next to nothing. I tried "chrome" once and suddenly found my favourites were called bookmarks and it was realy awkward to store/add and or recall them and was a retrograde move..... so reverted.
- any comments there ?

If your'e afraid that Windows 7 will be terribly different from Vista, don't worry. It's just Vista with all the broken bits fixed. The main thing is, it's fully supported by Microsoft, whereas Vista effectively enjoys less support than XP (It's like MS are so embarrassed by Vista that they want to pretend it never happened).
