samsung galaxy ace 2

hi,
when i switch on my galaxy ace 2 phone i have quite a few icons appear on the top of the screen next to the battery meter and the time clock, can anybody tell me what these icons mean or if not where can i go or look to find out what they mean, the main one that i want to know about is if i am connected to the internet or not, as i don't really want to use the internet unnessary when the phone is switched on.

Download an app called ApnDroid - it allows you to turn off all internet access and avoids any possibility of unexpected charges.
