message stuck on galaxy phone

hi everyone. I have a message stuck on my mobile, samsung galaxy s5830i... someone thought it was funny to spam me with an app and sent me 500 messages at once... i was deleting the thread every so often as they came through then got fed up as it was driving me nuts and waited til they all came through and deleted the thread but there seems to be one stuck.

On the message icon at the bottom of the screen its showing one new message. I keep getting notification of new message at top of screen and its showing in pull down menu who its from and what it says but when i click it its a blank message with no contact details.

I cant delete the sodding 'not there' message!!!! Its not driving me doolally. My son has tried all ways to delete it... in running programmes, with the task manager, by sending me more messages in the hope it will delete that one along with the new ones. nothing works :(((((((( He said to delete all my messages to see if that works but i have some that i want to save and would be upset if i deleted them.

Is there anything I can do short of a reset as i have so much info saved in calendar and memo and also the messages i dont want to lose

please can someone help before i rip my hair out...and his face off grrrr thank you

oh i forgot to say.... everytime i clear the notification of the message in the pull down menu it comes back after a few seconds :((((

Try taking the battery out for 20 secs, may clear it may not, good luck!

ive not tried that, ive switched it off and on a zillion times and had sim card out and even put it in another phone to try to delete it so will take it out and see what happens

oh god how stupid am i? ive obviously had the battery out cos the sim card is underneath it!! lol... im sooooooo peed off with this my brain isnt working

Go to your provider and ask them to do it, that's what I do.

thats just what im trying to do now, ive called and explained and they said they would call me back, they did..twice and got cut off... ive called again and got cut off.....argghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh lol

That's the beauty of living on a little island, we don't call, we barge into the shop and insist they do something, and believe me, they do!!!

lol i can just imagine that... i went in shop in end and they did a soft reset, so i still have all my contacts, messages, files etc and the bloody stuck message!!!

I think i might just get a new phone lol
